Easter Well Tour (for groups)

Tour of the most beautiful Easter wells in Franconian Switzerland

The custom of decorating wells at Easter has a long tradition in the Franconian Switzerland. Neumerous wells and springs are decorated during Easter time from March 24. to April 07.

One day tour:

Depending on the group`s preferences the tour begins between 9.00 and 10.00 am. An experienced tourist guide leads you to the most beautiful wells and not only gives you an insight into the history of these places and into the region`s geological make-up but also explains the meaning and origin of the custom to decorate Easter wells. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the Imperial Palace (Kaiserpfalz) and its exhibitions of Easter and the Passion of the Christ.
At lunchtime the group will stop at a traditional Franconian inn to enjoy a typical Fanconian meal. In the afternoon there will be another stop in Forchheim, where the guests can make use of some leisure time for shopping or a coffee or two before returning home.

Half day tour:

The tour starts at the town hall square in Forchheim at 1.00 pm. After visiting the Imperial Palace (Kaiserpfalz) the group is taken to the most beautiful Easter wells in Franconian Switzerland. When the tour ends at about 5.00 pm in Forchheim, we recommend spending some time in one of Forchheim`s pleasant cafés. Alternatively the tour can also take place from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Guide for half day tour in German: € 80.00

Guide for full day tour in English/French: € 150.00
Guide for half day tour in English/French: € 95.00
(9.00 am - 1.00 pm or 1.00 pm - 5.00 pm)

The Easter wells can be visited from March 24 to April 07.
