Christmas in Forchheim

The most beautiful advent calendar in the world

During the Christmas season Forchheim`s town hall is turned into the "most beautiful advent calendar in the world". The first window opens on December 1. 

Every evening numerous visitors gather at the Christmas market in front of the town hall. Forchheim`s Christmas angel appears at 6.30 pm to open a different window every day. Behind each window there is a prize to be won by the lucky owner of the chosen Christmas lottery ticket.

The Nativity Scene Trail in Forchheim

Another attraction during the Christmas season is Forchheim`s Nativity Scene Trail which leads the visitor through the old town to a number of traditional Franconian Nativity scenes. December 1 to January 6:

Monday to Friday: 1.00 p.m. - 7.00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 10.00 a.m. - 7.00 p.m.
Dec. 24 and Dec. 31: 10.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.

The Nativity Scene Trial is not the only reason to visit the town hall square in the Christmas season: Forchheim`s traditional Christmas market is also worth a visit.

Christmas in the Pfalz

The Kaiserpfalz is a wonderful venue for exhibitions and events of all kind. In the Christmas season there is a model railway exhibition and a Nativity scene with live animals. Additionally the town of Forchheim is constantly engaged in organising new events and attractions in and around the Kaiserpfalz.
