The Old Town Festival - "Altstadtfest" - 22 and 24 June 2012

The Old Town Festival - "Altstadtfest" - in Forchheim`s historical town center first took place in 1980 and is visited by around 25.000 guests every year during the 3-day festival. The Festival always takes place on the last weekend in June. There is a varied programme including many different live music bands and brass bands that perform in front of the wonderful facade of the medieval town hall - the "Rathaus" - and in the inner courtyard of the former Emperor`s Palace - the "Kaiserpfalz", along the main and in the Sattlertorstraße. Visitors will find ample parking in and around the town center or also at the sportsground - the "Sportinsel" - or in many signposted carparks surrounding the town.
